Horticulture Department Distributes High Yielding Fruit Trees as part of Mission Youth Initiative

Relevantly, the fruit plants are provided to the beneficiaries as part of the special youth engagement and awareness campaign conducted by Mission Jeunesse in the border district last week. The department arranged the achievable high quality fruit plants for the lower and upper areas of the district in just 3 days,” the CHO said. High quality fruit plants like apple, peach, plum and apricot are supplied to young people from the temperate/upper regions of Mandi, Loran, Surakote, Balakot and Buffliaz zones, while high quality fruit plants from lime Italian, Kagzi lime and guava are provided for young people in lower regions with subtropical to intermediate climate. Beneficiaries also receive a brochure with technical advice. Fruit plants are distributed by BLOs and youth clubs in different Panchayats in the district. Recognizing the good work of the horticulture department, the unique program is widely welcomed by the general public, farmers and fruit growers.
