Ministry awards prizes to industries that support vocational schools


Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology awarded the DUDI (Synergy between Industry and Business Communities) Awards to partners for their contribution to the sector vocational education.

“These awards are not a competition between DUDI, but an appreciation by the government towards industry players and companies that have partnered (the government),” said the ministry’s director general of vocational education, Wikan. Sakarinto, in a statement written here on Sunday. .

It is not difficult to establish a partnership, but neither is it easy to create a partnership matching model, he said, adding that the special feature of vocational education is the value. linkage and adequacy, which is evidenced by partnerships.

“Through the DUDI Prizes, we praise DUDI and the associations which have contributed and are dedicated to (developing) vocational education”, he explained.

At the event, the ministry awarded DUDI awards to 40 selected companies that showed their commitment to the development of vocational education in the country.

During the nomination period, 420 vocational education units (schools and polytechnics) nominated 360 companies and industries for the DUDI awards. .

“This means that the educational units are already witnessing the implementation and benefits of the link and match program with its DUDI partners,” said Sakarinto.

In addition, he called on Education and Training Institutions (LKPs) to help produce a skilled workforce to meet industrial needs. Thus, the industrial world is not only supported by graduates of formal education but also non-formal education.

One of the winning companies is the state-owned power utility PT PLN. “We provide the learning facilities and utilities related to the practice method,” Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication and CSR PLN Agung Murdifi said earlier.
