(BRANCHBURG, NJ) — The Arts & Design department at Raritan Valley Community College will present a student theater production, Spring Studio ’22Wednesday through Saturday, April 13-16, 7:00 p.m. at the Welpe Theater on the College’s Branchburg Campus. The studio production features a cast of 20 in humorously animated scenes, all unified by their studio setting. The bill includes three superb offerings from RVCC theater teacher Dennis Russo.

During the evening of self-contained stories, viewers will witness the following and more: a brave first Valentine’s Day/Prom invitation; a well-meaning if bizarre ambush after a dismissal; the nerdy ranks of the Anime Club declaring war on the Wrestlers and Thespian Clubs; the grace of the hospital waiting room appearing via a crossword; a praying novice offering advice to God; a legally required search of the attic of three siblings, revealing a perspective on parental love; a desperate and determined teenager pursuing his dream of dancing in New York in 1954; and airport downtime when the brothers finally learn to share and love!

The Spring Studio ’22 production will also feature work by guest artist, playwright Roy Barry, a member of the Playwrights and Directors Unit of the prestigious Actor’s Studio in New York, where many of his works have been featured. Barry’s resume for over 30 years is wide, rich and varied, including five Broadway shows: Hello Dolly, The Yearling, Follies, Coco and Maggie Flynn. The scene featured in Spring Studio ’22 is taken from a memoir, A Bushwick State of Mind.
