“The Ministry of Education has selected a total of 30 schools in 14 provinces, including Istanbul, the capital Ankara and İzmir, for the production of these protective items,” said Mahmut Özer, Deputy Minister of Education.

He noted that vocational schools in Istanbul, northwestern Bursa province and southern Hatay province will produce masks that will be in the standard of N95 model masks, and the ministry is making the necessary investments to this end.

Production of these types of masks could continue in April, according to Özer.

Vocational schools will also produce surgical masks.

He recalled that 44 vocational schools across the country have already contributed to the production of disinfectant equipment.

“We plan to increase the number of schools producing disinfectants to 100 in April.

The disinfectants produced by these schools are used both to sanitize their own facilities and to meet the demand of the cities in which they are located.
